Diamonds blow seven run lead, lose 11-10

Having lead Sonoma 8-1 earlier, the Diamonds couldn’t hold a 9-6 eighth inning lead and eventually lost in ten innings 11-10.

With the score tied at nine, the Diamonds scored a run in the tenth, but left the bases loaded. With extra inning rules, the Stompers started the tenth with two runners on who advanced on a wild pitch. Daniel Comstock’s single scored both runners and gave Sonoma the win.

Tyler Stirewalt started for the Diamonds and gave up five runs but only one was earned. Danny Moskowits (0-1) pitching the ninth and tenth innings took the loss for Pittsburg. D. J. Sharabi (1-0) got the win for the Stompers.

Morgan Blatnik went 3 for 4 with four RBI’s including a three-run homer for the Diamonds. Wes Wallace hit his third homerun of the year for Pittsburg.
The two teams will meet again Friday night at 6:05 p.m. at Arnold Field in Sonoma.
