Tight Ballgame Blown Open by Admirals Who Win 12-4

As late as the fifth inning the score was tied, but four Vallejo runs in the bottom of the fifth and the eighth blew open a close game and the Admirals won 12-4.

With two homeruns and four RBI’s, Chris Fornaci lead the Admirals offense. Javier Marticorena and Yiecok Calderon homered for Pittsburg in the losing effort.

Travis Blakley (0-2) had his least effective start for the Diamonds and took the loss. Demetrius Banks (1-2) came on in relief of Peter Reyes for the Admirals and shut down Pittsburg to earn the victory.

The rubber match of the three-game series will be Sunday at 1:05 p.m. in Vallejo.
