Stompers Sweep Series In Pittsburg

Every Sonoma player to make an official plate appearance got at least one hit as the Stompers crushed the Pittsburg Diamonds 13-1 to sweep the three-game opening weekend series.

Leading the parade of hitters for Sonoma was Scott David who went three for four with two RBI’s and a run scored. Sonoma scored three runs in the fourth inning and five runs in the sixth and eighth innings in which they batted around.

Sonoma starter Tyler Garkow (1-0) gave up three singles to start the game but settled down and collected the win. Pittsburg starter Skylar Shaw-Fuss (0-1) took the loss.

Both Pacific Association teams are off Monday. Pittsburg travels to San Rafael Tuesday while Sonoma will play at Vallejo.
